"The cheapest ticket to Tel Aviv"
Olio is such an unusual restaurant that Esquire Magazine enthusiastically described it as the “anti-restaurant." Olio’s undeniable energy and charm is inspired by the Bohemian scene of Tel Aviv, and has been a gathering place for creatives of all ages and backgrounds.
It is located in a renovated 1930's Standard Oil filling station, in which some elements of the generational decay and urban blight were embraced and preserved. Against the backdrop of this urban industrialism, Olio's patio garden is a peaceful oasis.
The food is rustic, bold, and comforting, with a strong emphasis on vegetables. A colorful mélange of Mediterranean and Middle-eastern, traditional and contemporary. Our bakers make bread the way it was made centuries ago: mixed, shaped, and crafted by hand, naturally-leavened, and baked in the wood-burning hearth.
Our bar program focuses on classical cocktails, creatively reinterpreted by our skilled bar crew. Over the years, we have amassed an impressive list of spirits with an emphasis on vermouths, aperitifs, amari, and anisettes. Olio's list of wines-by-glass includes thoughtful selections of producers, varietals, and regions both familiar and esoteric. Elaia's full bottle list is also available at Olio.
